X264 : using cpu capabilities MMX MMXEXT SSE SSE2 When I hit the encode button I get the following error: When I open the file in ffmpegX I see in the summary panel that the video is mpeg-2 at 720x480, 8000 kbps and 29.97 fps and the audio is mp2, 48000Hz and 384 kbps.
"A container of ashes might one day be thrown from the sky, which could burn the land and boil the oceans.I record TV shows using EyeTV Hybrid and would like to use ffmpegX to convert to formats such as iPod, Apple TV, and DVD because ffmpegx is much faster than the EyeTV conversion (which I think just uses QuickTime).
So what is your regular nick on this site?Īlso, you do know that the "Tube" software is another manufacturers software don't you? Of ALL the computer gizmos I've ever bought (and thrown away!) in a Quarter-Century, I LOVE MY EYETV! Ranks right up there with the iPod as a gizmo that really transforms and enhances your computing experience.
All I know is I've been watching TV on my Mac ever since QuickTime capture made it possible - before I even purchased the first EyeTV USB 1.0 unit. The Deep-Geek HTPC and AV home theater types aren't the intended audience. I really struggle to keep the site approachable and digestible - to MORTALS. it's such a deep, complex mix of technology and implementations that goes waaaaay beyond ElGato vs Equinux vs Hauppauge, Pinnacle, ATI and Miglia. But the whole Analog vs Digital, Antenna vs Cable vs Satellite, Clear QAM vs Encrypted, UHF vs VHF, NTSC vs PAL vs DVB-T, USA vs International TV standards. I'm trying to keep a SIMPLE 3-page site that helps North American consumers and Mac newbie switchers grasp Mac DVR options and help them purchase the RIGHT solution as simply as possible. Thanks! A Mac TV Gizmo site has been a 'bear' to tackle. Somewhat rare to find all those topics in one place. I try to give THE TUBE software the benefit of the doubt at. "A container of ashes might one day be thrown from the sky, which could burn the land and boil the oceans." "Near the day of Purification, there will be cobwebs spun back and forth in the sky." "If we dig precious things from the land, we will invite disaster." "Good heavens, Miss Sakamoto! You're beautiful!" The Tube software is a direct ripoff of EyeTV Lite Miglia left owing big $$$ to a lot of folks.Īgain, ElGato makes no hardware, they make only software, they revise nothing. But it's a tough challenge to catch-up let along keep-up with ElGato. It has interesting, innovative features, and a clean interface that isn't getting nearly as deep and complex to navigate as EyeTV has gotten. TheTube is getting steady updates and supporting more TV hardware with each release. and overseas is bundling Equinux's software after their fallout with ElGato. Miglia seems to have abandoned the US market. And a shift towards Digital ONLY tuners - perhaps in time for MacWorld Expo, hmmm? Oh and a $99 street price for the current Hybrid as it's demoted for legacy/Analog Cable stuck-in-the-muds?
Predictions: I expect ElGato to revise the BIG 'N' BULKY EyeTV Hybrid soon - down to something more the size of Pinnacle Micro's new miniHD Mac dongle.
(And not know what they're missing if they've never seen EyeTV.)įor too long the Mac market didn't have enough choice or competition: I think Equinux's entry into the Mac TV gizmo market is a GOOD THING - so that EyeTV ain't the ONLY game in town. And for some cross-platform or dual-OS users, a TubeStick might be a workable choice for both Mac and Win. I try to give THE TUBE software the benefit of the doubt at - TheTube has gotten A LOT better recently, especially with the v2.9 release.
